About Me

My name is Lindie, and I am a freelance tutor, writer, and linguist with over 20 years of experience. I live in the Johns Creek/Alpharetta area.

I speak five languages and have a Master’s Degree in Theoretical Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition. I did my undergraduate work at the University of Illinois, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with High Distinction.

I am a grammar-lover and language-learning addict who enjoys sharing my enthusiasm and knowledge with others. I have taught Spanish, French, literature/writing, ESL/ESOL, grammar, reading, and test preparation to both children and adults. When time allows, I enjoy giving back to the community by taking on long-term substitute assignments teaching Spanish, ESL, and French in the top schools of North Fulton.  I am an online curriculum writer for language learners from elementary through the college level, and I have taught Spanish at the university level as well as to children.

My professional background includes work as a writer, teacher, computational linguist, and international business analyst, performing systems configuration, testing, international implementations, and creation and execution of international training in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

I have a Cambridge CELTA Certificate, which is the most respected certification program in TEFL (Teaching of English as a Foreign Language), in addition to the Second Language Acquisition component to my graduate degree.

I have lived and worked in South America, Mexico, Europe, and North Africa. I speak Spanish at the near-native level, and my linguistics degree was granted through the Department of Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.
